Default Walking out of LA

My Factions lvl 17 MM cannot leave LA out the front gate(Villany quest))
Err 7 and logs out.

My level 20 Prophecies can.

Both characters get "twitchy" when they hit the spot that should be the teleport(move back and forth rapidly a few times, not characteristic of lag(on DSL I know what that is). Tried on Highest and lowest graphics. 86fps on low, forgot to look at high. The ping designator in the lower right hand corner goes between 200-400 as is normal for me since it was implimented, and I can walk around LA all I want with either character.

This happened to another in a different section, and I did a bunch of reading and no posts about this problem since the last update set(winters over, not nice enough to make me want to sit in lions arch though)

Any help would be appreciated, but I really don't think it's client side, unless it's my Internet provider tweaking out.

This has been happening to me too, only I've made a new Factions character and I can't get out of the Shing Jea Monastery because of this error.

Since the patch, I have the same problem when I leave Shing Jea Monastery to go to Sunqua Vale. My ping displays as normal as I walk into the blue portal, but then for about 3 seconds the game looks like it is going to freeze. Next I see the title screen and a message saying I lost connection.
This is happening with all my characters.
Also, I can't advance new characters because of this.

"Your connection to the server was lost. Please check your internet connection." (Code=007)

I can successfuly exit to Linnok Courtyard.
I tried using different characters. I tried making new characters. I tried changing quests(I used Chart the Forests, a Kaining City quest that doesn't invole Shing Jea Island at all).

My computer: 1GB memory, Radeon 9600, DSL (no router, no wireless).

Thank you

Ok thhis is happening to way too many players now. I have a guild membber that can't leave the Guild Hall. This is what I suggested to him: Uninstall Guild Wars completely (you will need to remove the Guild Wars folder after the uninstall utility has run). Defragment your hard drive. Run checkdisc (requires a reboot to do). Run any Anti-Spyware utilities that you have. After doing all this then reinstall Guild Wars. Before you log in let Guild Wars download all the updates that it needs (just let it sit on the log in screen for a couple hours that should do it). Doing all this helped out my friend and I do hope it helps out yall.

You could probably just rename your gw.dat file and redownload it. See if that works, would be a lot easier and faster for one.

This is happening with me too, trying to get out of Sunspear Sanctuary. If someone has found something that works it would be helpful.

Still happening, still on LA.(about 30 hours now.....complete with restarts and normal defrags)
Also Droks to talus chute, can load fine into talus from Rankor.

Can make it out every once in a while, well, I have once in like ten tries.

They updated some portal glitch some people were abusing and I think that's the cause of this, as more and more people are mentioning it.

I saw elsewhere something about a single file defrag program. I'm going to try that and I'll edit this post with results.
*Edit, well, as some people think they know what they're doing, I read that people that used odd defraggers end up having more problems, so I'll not be doing this. I'd rather reinstall, then go to sleep while it downloads*

I really don't want to do a reinstall, as downloading something big on DSL at 24k/sec(give or take) isn't any fun.

This was happening to me earlier trying to zone to Sunqua Vale. I tried probably 7 or 8 times. I don't know if this is what actually fixed it for me or not, but I changed the current district from 1 to 5, and it worked the next time I tried to zone. Later after going back to the monastery and trying to zone to the Vale again, it disconnected me. I logged back on, changed to the highest district number (4 this time), and zoned successfully. Afterwards I zoned to and from some other village without any problems.

I'm too new to this game to see how this might have anything to do with it, but just thought I'd throw this out there in case it might work for someone else.

EDIT: This was all on dial-up btw... I'm at home on my cable connection now so I'll post again if I have the same problem.

It has been happening to my monk, he can't get out of some towns unless I rezone to the last district. Try that until they fix what they screwed up.
